Sandy Hook: We’re Sorry!

Next week is Christmas and during this season Christians are tuned into the story of Jesus’ birth.  It is the story of God becoming as vulnerable as us by joining us, in humility, and sharing with us in this broken story as he makes all things new.  With the news of last Friday’s shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, I remind myself once again that Jesus has come and is coming again to rid God’s creation of its evil and injustice once and for all.

The title of the following hymn Come Thou Almighty King is a video of Ana Marquez-Greene singing on verse of this hymn.  Ana was one of the twenty children and twenty six people in total killed last Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary School.  Today we remember as we say once again the only words to say, “We’re sorry!”
